The Scheme allows for 190 of school openings, plus 5
in-service training days for staff and 3 days casual holidays.
The Council, encouraged by the Scottish Government, is
planning to give all single status staff a holiday on St Andrews’ Day.
If agreed, schools will finish for the summer on Friday
2 July 2010.
If it is not agreed, schools will close for
the summer one day earlier on Thursday 1 July 2010.
Of the 3 days casual holidays – 2 days will be
allocated to create a full week’s holiday in February for pupils and
staff. 1 day will be chosen by each Learning Community – and
generally be aligned to their local Festivals.
Of the 5 in service days: one will be 17 August and the
other four days will be advised once considered by the schools
Continued Professional Development Group and approved by Schools
Strategic Policy Group. |
