Nev's Jambusters

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/smile/games/jambusters/jambusters_popup.shtml

The object of the game is to get a colour and try to hit that same colour in front of you then use space to launch the ball and the colour in front of you use the arrows to move the cannon to launch and hit the target. If the balls in front get to the bottom of the square and if you here a alarm the you need to try to get a colour and try blow that colour near to you. Stay as long as you can and get the most points. The bonus points is a bird, a man on a hook and a rock ball and that can break all the balls in front of you (if you hit the balls).

Say out loud the colour in which each of these words below is printed.

Tricky? This is known as the Stroop Effect. It is a result of the conflict between the direct interpretation or reading of the word and the perception, categorisation and naming of the colour of the letters. Seeing a colour, identifying it and categorising it, translating that colour into the word, and finally vocalising the named colour takes far more concentration than the natural tendency to simply read the word aloud. It has also been suggested that the task of saying the name of the colour requires both hemispheres of the brain to work together.

BRAIN GAME

HOW many 'f's in the sentence below? Count in one read!

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

There are six, but almost everyone sees three. Why? It seems the brain cannot correctly process the word "OF". The letter F usually makes the "f" sound, like in "fox". However, in the word "of", it makes a "v" sound. Somehow, your brain overlooks "of" as it scans for the sound of "f".
